Study About Evaluation And Countermeasures On Competitiveness Of Textile Industry In Shannxi Province

The textile industry is one of the traditional industries that contribute a lot for the economic development. It's following the changes of scientific or technological progress and external environment, the research and application of the textile industry have got further expansion and some new fields have emerged. But textile industry has came into a difficult period since 1990's, its development fall behind some new industries, it caused more concerns how the traditional industry tackles the challenge in the new period. Now, the layout of the textile industry in our country is imbalanced, the coastal provinces or cities'textile industry in the east develop faster and better than in the west. So, it's necessary and important that the western textile industry promote one's own competitiveness, the thesis is raised under this background. In this thesis, the typical Shannxi Province is selected as the research object, a index system is established and textile industry's competitiveness is appraised systematically and the countermeasures are given.In this thesis, the theory of competitiveness is applied to a concrete industry, the theories of competitiveness, industry's competitiveness and its evaluation, and detailed analysis about the characters of textile industry are used as the basis for the study. According to the general idea of the competitive research, firstly, we set up an overall evaluation index system in view of four factors including the element of production, demand condition, industrial structure and textile enterprise based on the study of Country Diamond theory of Michael E. Porter. This index system includes 13 second index and choose 36 tertiary indexes as the main aspects. Moreover, we use expert investigation method to determine the index system, use AHP method to give the index's weights, use the fuzzy evaluation method to prove the index system. Secondly, through this index system, we choose 28 comparative targets, appraise the competitiveness of Shannxi province's textile industry by the BP neural network method, do detailed contrast analysis with the excellent province's. Draw a conclusion: The textile industry of Shannxi province is lack of the competitiveness, it's position is the 24th of the whole country in 2002 and the 23rd in 2003, and the four main factors of competitiveness are also relatively poor, followed behind other provinces, The main reasons lies in several aspects, such as the low human's quality, the obsolete technology, unreasonable structure of industry, especially the textile corporation's poor competitiveness. Finally, according to the above results and the influence of environment, we put forward the overall countermeasures and suggestions about promoting competitiveness of Shannxi's textile industry from six respects.
