Zhuzhou Smelter Group's Corporate Information Systems Planning Study

Internet has been changing the economic operation mode and people's work and living habits in 21st century. In order to adapt to the change, enterprises must improve their response and adaptability to these changes. According to its next five years' development plans and strategic objectives, Zhuzhou Smelter Group Co., Ltd proposed construction of the Group's overall information system, which laid a foundation to fully integrating and maximizing its resources, improving its efficient core competence, reducing business costs and increasing its profits.The present paper, at the beginning, discussed related theories of the information system and EPR(Enterprise Resource Planning) system, introduced the developing trend and research status of EPR system, and described the content and method of information system planning. Based on the previous introduction, the present paper then analyzed the need and its application status of information system in Zhuzhou Smelter Group, then elaborated the overall planning and implementation security of the information system, and then analyzed the investment budget and expected result of the overall planning construction of it in the Group.At the same time, from the both aspects of theory and practice, this paper proposed systematic construction plan for constructing the information system in Zhuzhou Smelter Group. The proposed plan aims at reducing risks in the implementing process, improving the application level of the system in Zhuzhou Smelter Group, therefore enhances the work efficiency and decreases the cost, and provides decision-making, plan and controlling for the company in a comprehensive and systematic manner.In the end, it is expected that this paper will provide experiences and reference results of the information system construction in the metallurgical industry as well as large state-owned enterprises of the same type through the research in the paper.
