Engineering Supervision Of Construction Quality Control

The quality of construction project is the benchmark of human ivilization, and it is critical to both its users' assets safety and the image of the nation. The quality of education facility is important for education institution's development and teaching standards, the safety of faculty and students, and the quality of students' life. "Quality first" is our country's major principle in the construction industry, and the duty of ensuring the quality is the priority of all goals of construction projects.Based on the detailed analysis of quality of a student dormitory, this paper discusses the major points of quality control and analyzes the factors affecting the quality of construction projects. This is followed by the discussion of the construction stage's quality control from supervision engineer's perspective. This involves the clarification of the supervision engineer's organization, duties, supervision procedure and methods in the construction stage. Based on the data from a construction project of Hunan Institute of Technology and Science, this paper points out the effect of supervision engineer's quality control on the quality of this project, and the critical factors of ensuring quality control in construction stage. Hopefully, the conclusion of this paper will provide some useful recommendations and suggestions for supervision engineers in their future endeavor of construction project quality control.
