Firstly, via reviewing the development of retail theory, the paper expounds Wheel & retailing theory,Vacuum Hypothesis, Accordion theory and the Life cycle theory and the development situation of existing Chinese retailing, Secondly, based on the existing situation of retail statements, the paper reflects main management pattern at present---the basic situation and the problems of joint--operation and then through the analysis of the background, history of joint-operation and China's current status of nature, obtaining the root of the problems and nature. In addition, simultaneously it pointed out that at present joint-operation brings noticeable several important issues, such as: joint-operation making department stores face its function loss; commodity homogeneity; the price being nominally tall; and vulnerable relationships between brand supplier and retailer; extrusion of commercial real estate etc. Finally, based on a series of analysis and verification of joint-operation issues, the paper puts forward several schemes and methods of solving the problem under the current objective economic situation, at the same time, bringing forward several suggestions to improve joint-operation. The author from multiple angles, multiple levels makes a detailed interpretation of China joint-operation and tries to seek after a scientific and reasonable way to solve joint-operation issues and limitation in the existing social economic environment to make department store developing smoothly.
