Northwest Yunnan Alpine Mountain Land-use Change And Social And Economic Development Study

Land resources which are material basic and scarcity, are survival for human. Land use is very closely related with socio-economic development. With the acceleration of the urbanization process and the rapid s development of social economic, how to use land scientifically, rational and efficiently, becomes the first problem which is faced and to be solved for the economic development of regional social.Even the poverty and backwardness in high and cold mountainous northwest, the region's social and economic development ,remains to depend on using land resources as a guarantee. This paper uses the case of Ninglang Yi Autonomous County, the typical Country in high and cold mountainous northwest areas Clarifying the association and deriving mechanism between the dynamic changes of land use and economic development, by studying the relationship between the changes of Ninglang land use and social economic development will help to properly deal with and coordinate the relations between the land resources and social economic development of high and cold mountainous northwest areas, to provide scientific and reasonable direction and basis for the government to make social economic development measures.This paper analyzes theoretical basis of the study on the relations between the land use change and economic development, as well as the research methods and major developments of domestic and foreign scholars on LUCC. Specific to the Ninglang, the paper collates and analyzes the various types of land change data from 1996 to 2008, which shows the significant change of Ninglang land use as follows: (1) The agricultural land has increased 3089.87 hm~2, with the average annual increase of 237.68 hm~2. (2) The construction land has increased 105.45 hm~2, with the average increase of 8.11 hm~2.(3)The unused land has reduced 3195.32 hm~2,with the average reduction of 245.79 hm~2. This paper based on ideas of principal component analysis and Ninglang information in hand, select 13 factors from major socio-economic factors, which impact land use change .analyze those factors by principal component on SPSS software , combined with qualitative analysis, summarize the main driving factor of land use changes in1996-2008 in Ninglang are population growth,economic development and national or local policies. Combine those three factors with cultivated land,construction land, garden, and use correlation analysis, get the best types of linear regression equation between kinds of land use change and socio-economic development. The results showed that:(1) land for construction expand and the total population increase is positively correlated, while the cultivated land area decreased with the increase in the total population showed a negative correlation.(2) the change of land use and close relationship between economic development, mainly in:①the expansion of construction land and GDP growth, increased investment in fixed assets and the second and tertiary industries increased output of the three showed significant positive correlation;②lower proportion of primary industry and the associated reduction in cultivated land area, show a positive correlation;③garden to promote the expansion of the agricultural economic development and growth of per capita net income of farmers, garden-scale farmers and agricultural output and per capita net income of farmers was the same to the positive correlation.(3) State and local policy has an important influence on the land use. Especially since 2000, the western development strategy and converting cultivated land into forest/grass project is an important factor of cultivated land change, but make the garden and woodland increased significantly.Finally, this paper predict the relationship trend between socio-economic development and the land use change in Ninglang county. By using the grey system, linear regression equation analysis methods, predict the major socio-economic indicators and county land-use trends on planning period .It will help to forecast the demand of macro-economic development during the planning period of land use.
