Middle Region (Shanxi, Henan, Hubei, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hunan) is an under-developed one in China, and various indexes of national economy development are below average national level to different extents. With the introduction of West China's Full Exploration and North-east China's Vigorous Development of the Industry Base, the rise of Middle China is becoming a nationwide focus, especially a focus of each province in the middle region. Foreign trade is one of the troika and inevitably an important means to realize the economic growth. Making proper foreign trade policy is the key point to develop foreign trade in Middle Region and therefore an issue of this thesis.This thesis summarizes the characteristics of foreign trade in the Middle Region and puts forward various problems such as imbalance of enterprises' structure in foreign trade development in Middle Region, development lag of processing trade, and imbalance of trade products' structure. At the same time, the thesis brings forward the countermeasures of foreign trade in the Middle Region after the analysis of situation both abroad and home and the comparative advantages and disadvantages of foreign trade development in Middle Region.The thesis advises that, based on comparative advantages, developing special foreign trade is an ideal choice for foreign trade in Middle Region. Foreign trade of mine product, agricultural product and tourism should be rationally developed.Furthermore, the thesis analyzes how to develop the non-state-owned enterprises, and states that improving the investment environment is the only way to solve the problem of foreign investment absorption difficulty and that eliminating the development obstacles of civilian-owned enterprises is the vital step to promote the foreign trade of civilian-owned enterprises.The thesis also advances the idea of how to develop processing trade and finally states several matters in the development of foreign trade in Middle Region.
