Metropolitan Area is a result of industrialiazation and urbanizatian.It is the embodiment of centralization and radialiazation when city develops to a certainty. With coming of global urban times,the Metropolitan Area that include center city and peripheral regions,has become a new spacial cell of modern urban economy development.In nearly 20 years, Metropolitan Area began to take shape and developed rapidly.This phenomenon becomes new question for studying in urbanology.With the centralization of population and the development of economy,the urban function of ChengDu,DeYang and Mian Yang influence more and more area,so this has formed the Metropolitan Area composed of the central city and the peripheral areas connected closely wiht it.referencing the domestic and oversea theories and experiments of pratices about the urban region,this paper synthetically researches the Great Metropolitan Region of Cheng De Mian and designs the stratages for the development.The whole thesis includes four parts—introduction(1 chapter),theory analyses(2 chapter),pratice research(3-4 chapters) and conclusion(5 chapter). Chapter 1,introduces background of picking title,research purpose,study meaning,paper frame and research method. Chapter 2, definitudes the concept,connotation,and character of Metropolitan,after that,it discusses the formative mechanism of Metropolitan from the factors such an market,institution an ect.moreover,from the practice of Metropolitan form for the conomic and social development,as well as the experience for reference and the problems we should pay attention to. Chapter 3,brings forward the necessity and feasibility of building the Great Metropolitan Region of Cheng De Mian.It also reasonably defines the Great Metropolitan Region of Cheng De Mian by the means of the quantitative analysis and the qualitative analysis. Chapter 4,through analysis of the developing actuality,problems,conditions and mechanism,the strategy target,regional structure,and some solve problems that can speed up the developmeng of the Great Metropolitan Region of Cheng De Mian, the policies and measures are advised.
