Intensified global competition, flexible employement and fast technological change have dramatically made the employment environment more uncertain and the employee perceived job insecurity. Perceived job insecurity may have detrimental consequences for work-related attitudes and behaviors, as well as organizational effectiveness, which employees and organizations focus on. However, fewer domestic studies have pay attention to this field. This paper adopted a multidimensional approach to studing perceived job insecurity and its antecedents and consequences in IT industry in China.First, this paper had reviewed job security, the conceptualization, the theory and measure, as well as antecedents and consequences of job insecurity, hereby primarily proposed the research model and hypothesis. Then, with the interview and survey in large scale, this paper adopted SPSS and LISREL to bulid SEM, test the multidimensional model of perceived job insecurity and anlyzed the diferent subscales of perceived job insecurity and its antecedents and consequences for the first time. At last, some conclusions were drawn and directions for future research had suggested.Based on the interview and survey investigation, some conclusions were drawn: The multidimensional model of perceived job insecurity in China in IT industry were supported. And the study explored the antecedents and consequences of perceived job insecutiy. Organizational change were positively related to perceived job insecurity, and it also has a positive relationship with job features and the total job; locus of control can predict perceived job insecurity effectively, and as well as job feature, the total job and powerlessness. What's more, it indicated that perceived job insecurity, job feature and powerlessness had an adverse effect on organizational commitment and intention to leave.
