The concept of potential refers to those inherent undiscovered qualities that can come into being or be developed under the scientific management. The significance of studying employees' potential development is as below:Firstly, it is for the benefit of the construction of harmonious socialistic society as well as the revival of our nation.Secondly, it meets the demand of maximum of use value.Thirdly, even employees' personal development will also benefit from it.This thesis analyzes some important theories of employees' promoting. According to China's reality, the five major reasons that counteract the development of employees' potential can be concluded as: (1) the disaccord between the position and personal quality and trait; (2) the irrationality of organization; (3) the improper organizational culture; (4) the unscientific system of check and payment; (5) the managers' own factors. In addition, the thesis proposes five advices in response: (1) seeking for the accord between the position and personal quality and trait; (2) building up the learning oriented organization; (3)creating a better organizational culture; (4) checking on performance as well as setting up a flexible payment system; (5) the managers' changing to reformation oriented leader.
