Modern logistics is developing fast in the worldwide as an advanced organizing way,a management technology and the most economical serving model. It has been a trend to develop the modern logistics energetically, focused on the port.Although the port construction in the city of Lianyungang is striding, the port logistics (which should be matched with the construction) is rather backward. It is not benefit to the port basic construction. Enhancing the optimization and disposition of the logistics in the port is a systematic project concerning the development of the whole city.Information technology must be looked as the main guarantee if the city intends to be a modern logistic center. Unless the port is involved in the internet and becomes the connection of logistics, finance and high-tech industry, can the transformation of economic rising ways be realized in the port. The following measures should be taken: to refer to the experiences of the oversea logistics; to promote the integration of port construction, trade, and logistics; to provid the effective service of good quality; to enhance the informationalization and the wide use of electronic commerce; to design the logistic models systematically.Based on the analysis of the logistic management of the main ports and the internal and external environment of Lianyungang port, it is believed that the optimization should be carried out from the aspects of wharf construct, loading and unloading, and the informationalizing management. To construct the logistic instruments and system, together with the informational system, the linking of the port with the market should be realized. As a result, the port can be provided with integrative and autometic logistic service by construcing effective and advanced logistic management system.
