On The Panzhihua Iron And Break Through The Iron Ore Resource-constrained Path Selection

With the rapid development of Chinese economy, China has entered a new stage of industrialization. However, the rapid economic growth is based on a tremendous resources consumption. So our country is facing increasingly tough resources constraints. Mineral resources as the industrial "food" are rare, finite and not reincarnate. As the raw material of iron and steel industry, iron ore is scarce, seriously wasteful, moreover, it's supply highly depends on import, etc. These problems seriously restrict the economic development of iron and steel enterprise. As the largest iron and steel enterprise in the western of China, Panzhihua Steel and Iron (Group) Corporation (PSIGC) also encounters the same critical issues of iron ore resources restraints.The results from detailed analyze of supply and utilization of iron ore resources show that the perspective of it's supply is faint, the resources waste seriously, and iron ore tailings stand idle seriously. In the past, the whole level development of PISG economy was hindered by these restricting factors. In order to solve these problems, PSIGC adopts a series of measures on exploiting the new resources, improving the technology, and deepening mineral production processing. Though several achievements are gained, PSIGC still remains the problems on strategic program, technical investigation and comprehensive utilization.Scale economy, circular economy and tactic of resources globalization are put forward in order to solve the mineral resources restraints. For PSIGC, in this thesis, such projects are brought up as follows:①. The more and more resources should be obtained and controlled.②. The industrial concentration should be strengthened.③.The "Going Abroad" strategy should be implemented to improve safety of raw materials.④.The utilization of iron ore resources should be realized by the circular economy principle.⑤.The iron ore resources should be utilized more efficiently and circularly by innovation of technique for resources utilization.In conclusion, such methods may solve the resources restraints of PSIGC, improve it's core competitive power and promote PISG to realize the strategic goals.
