As one part of the assessment center which is comman used in the government nowadays, situational judgment testing is more and more popular in China. The limitation of the traditional situational judgment tests is that single dimension measurement of competence. As the items of the situational judgment test contain mutiple dimensionsinformation, using one item to test muti-dimension competence has important theoretical and practical implications.This study first reviewed previous related literatures, found the progresses and weaknesses, and proposed major constructs of the study. Also, this study modified the old situational judgment testing, and organized the subject matter experts to score the responses. Then we developed the computer-based project to test managers of the enterprises in China. This paper verified the validity of situational judgment testing and compared differences between single dimension scoring producedure and multiple dimensions scoring producedure.The research includes the following parts: (l)Leadership competence subject and computer-based project design. We proposed leadership competence constructs after reviewed the related papers and the case study. Then we modified the single dimension scoring procedure and asked ten subject matter experts to score the responses. (2) Computed-based situational judgment test, questionnaire and statistical analysis. We developed the performance questionnaire and did some psychometric validation work. The result supported the hypotheses, modified the constructs using correlational and regression analyses.Four theoretical implications of this paper were discussed. Firstly, four dimensions of leadership competence constructs were confirmed: motivation competence, interpersonal competence, managerial competence and strategic competence. Secondly, the variance of the new situational judgment tests was higher than traditional situational judgment test. Thirdly, leadership competency had a positive and direct effect on the performance. Finally, criterion-related validity of multiple dimension situational judgment testing was higher than single dimension situational judgment testingIn the final section, the directrions for future research were discussed based on this study.
