Shaanxi Province Foreign Direct Investment And Industrial Agglomeration

A mass of foreign direct investment (FDI) inflow in China has aroused far and wide studies from famous scholars. FDI inflow not only upgrades one region's industry structure in some extent but also boost up the region's ability of sustaining development. Currently, FDI has become the important content and basic form in the building of our economy. The research on the relationships between FDI and industrial agglomeration has important meaning of effective usage of foreign investment and development of local economy, on the position of China's entering into WTO and fastering of the step in the international-economic-integration. How to enhance foreign direct investment to promote the attractiveness of the region's industry cluster development is a very important theoretical and practical problem.This thesis is divided into five parts. In the first part, the economic globalization and foreign direct investment bring on the geographic concentration of multinational corporations. The writer brings forward the main topic of the thesis on the basis of it. In the second part, the theoretical analysis and reviews of literature are put forward on the aim of the relationship between the FDI and industrial agglomeration; also the analysis is carried out mostly from two aspects, which include the impact of FDI towards industrial agglomeration. In the third part, the writer discusses the mutual relation between FDI and industrial Agglomeration and brings forward the circular and cumulative causation mechanism. In the forth part, first outlined in the ShaanXi province direct investment and industrial group on the status and development issues, data analysis shows that foreign direct investment in ShaanXi province distribution, distribution of the sources, distribution methods and distribution industries. And used of cluster index of 25 industry clusters, conducted a quantitative measurement and analysis. Second, use the exposition of the case through foreign direct investment in the 14 variables, using factor analysis method proved the level of economic development, labor gathered, industry gathering the openness of the economy and government policies affecting foreign direct investment as important factors, the regression analysis show the factors attracting foreign investment for flexibility. Finally, under the theory expounded and empirical analysis concluded foreign direct investment and industrial agglomeration is an interaction, Raise the targeted measures and policy recommendations of the ShaanXi province industries development.
