Bishan County, Chongqing City, Broiler Industry Development

In this paper,we study the development of broiler industry in Bishan County of Chongqing Municipality based on empirical research.According to the analysis of evolutionary route,key factors and successful experiences of the development of Bishan broiler industry,this paper offers academic and practical supports for developing industrialized agriculture characterized with integration of production,procession,and sale of special agricultural products depending on regional preponderant resources,adjusting the regional agriculture structure and helping rural residents get rid of poverty and become rich.1.Major research resultsBased on the theory that the development of specialized industry is pretty useful to achieve regional comparative advantage,adjust agricultural economical structure and increase agricultural benefit and peasants' income,the thesis studies the selected program strategy and promotion of broiler industry in Bishan and the mechanism of driven effects in regional agriculture taken the advantage of the development of specific industry from three aspects with methods of theoretical analysis and empirical research.1)Through the method of investigation interview,a large number of data involved in characters of broiler industry was observed.Further analysis was focused on the regional advantages for selecting broiler chicken as specialized industry for local economy.Moreover,the developing history of local broiler industry,present developing situations about scale of production,operating efficiency, operating pattern and circulating sale,as well as opportunities and challenges facing broiler industry were estimated.2)Based on the theory of industry development,the role of government and leading enterprises in industry development,and the interactions among government,enterprise and peasant was analyzed and estimated.Moreover,we discovered several key factors that promoted industrial development from different interior bodies' perspectives.3)Based on the theory of industrial organization and the theory of management of agricultural industry,lots of successful and available experiences on industrial organization in Bishan,including characteristics of production of broiler chicken,marketing strategies,and effective mechanism on distribution of benefits,were studied inthis thesis.2.Conclusions1)Taking advantage of regional specialized industry is a breakthrough point to promote the development of regional agriculture. 2)Poultry culture in style of family-raise is a basic cultivating and organizing mode that is suitable for broiler industry's developing.3)The professional,large-scale and regional family-raise is the orientation for modern broiler industry.4)Supporting funds and services from government are reliable guarantee for modern broiler industry.5)Leading enterprise is promotion power that drives local economics.6)Advanced technology is promoting power that improves economic benefits.3.Policy Suggestions1)It is necessary to improve the deep processing system of broiler industry to increase integral benefits of agricultural industry.2)It is of significance to depend on advanced equipments and organization system to increase labor productivity in broiler industry.3)It is meaningful to establish innocuously disposal system to deal with chicken manure for circular utilization of the discarded.4)It is important to carry out livestock husbandry insurance to establish effective principles for risk aversion.4.Innovations1)This paper draws a conclusion that it is the gnvernment which plays an important role to make a scientific decision when choosing the characteristic industry,to provide public products, infrastructure construction,public services,funds utilization and preferential policy when promoting characteristic industry's developing under the conditions of market economic system.2)It is to prove the limitations that farmers put household's breeding on the side,to point out the vital role that farnlers develop livestock breeding industry to promote the industry's development,productivity and efficiency by familial specialized intensive livestock production,to justify the improving role that specialization production within a region promotes characteristic industry's developing.
