The Status Of The Enterprise International Development Evaluation Index System

Economy globalization turns business internationalization into a vital issue in the areas of economics and management. In order to get a healthy international growth, companies must identify their own internationalization status. Using a systematic and dynamic method to evaluate the status is meaningful for the research on the internationalization of the company and management practice.Based on a great amount of literature review, the paper identifies two main problems. The indexes in the development stage theory are too simple to evaluate the internationalization of the company. On the other hand, the indexes in the measuring theory of the internationalization degree are so static that they can't meet the need of a deveplopment evaluation. Therefore, the author believes that a new systematic evaluation index system is in need, which must be comprehensive to reflect the big picture of the development of the internationalization of the company.On the basis of literature review, the paper evaluates the status of the internationalization development of a company from the attitude, the ability and the performance of the internationalization of the company. Second and third level indexes are constructed and the questionnaire is designed, then a pre-investigation is processed according to the theoretical analysis and suggestions from experts, such as researchers of business internationalization, managers in practice and senior management consultants. In addition, SPSS 16.0 for Windows is used to make reliability and validity analysis on the data obtained from the questionnaire surveys in empirical research. Finally, the results indicate that the evaluation index system is reasonable and applicable.The paper also starts an empirical research on the application of the index system to form a discrimination function judging the phase of the internationalization of a company, and to explore an evaluation process. Additionally, the impact of the scale of the company on its development phase is analyzed in this paper, and the reference value of indexes in different industries is also listed.The research conclusions are listed at the end of the paper, as well as the deficiency of the paper and the expected future work.
