The Potential Of The Mainland And Taiwan Economic And Trade Cooperation And Prospects

In recent years the economy and trade cooperation between mainland and Taiwan has developed rapidly, and has shown a continued upward trend. At the same time the degrees of cross-strait economic interdependence has risen gradually.The author, through studying and analyzing the changes in economic development of Taiwan in different stages,find that at present, Taiwan's economic development still has a heavy reliance on the outside markets, especially on the mainland's market.By linking up the analysis result of data material in index analysis method and the actual non-data material, I notice that mainland and Taiwan complement and benefit each other in economy and trade cooperation.Through research, this article further illustrate that the main factor that hinder the development of cross-strait economy and trade cooperation is still political reasons. Moreover, the author has proposed some suggestions that may promote cross-strait economic and trade cooperation development, such as establishing cross-strait trade promotion mechanism, encouraging the economy and trade cooperation in high-tech industries, establishing a cross-strait economy cooperation mechanism and strengthening cooperation between the KMT and the CPC, etc.
