Anglo-American relations research has always been an important issue inthe research of international relations. Nowadays, Anglo-American countriesplay very important roles and wade in many affairs in many regions. In themodern history, they were undoubtedly strong countries. In the middle ofnineteen century, Britain finished the Industry Revolution and became thestrongest capitalist country of the whole world. Her antenna spread toeverywhere of the word, as well as CentralAmerican regions. As to America, she became a strong country around theAmerican regions through the Americans elaboration, though she was divorcedfrom her matrix----British in the late eighteen century. Therefore, in themiddle of nineteen century, these two countries came to meet in Americaespecially in the regions of Central Aerica, during the expanding andthereafter was their scrabble for the Central America. This article iswritten following the time going and the scrabble for the countries'interest between these two countries as well, which is to show thecomplicated Anglo-American relations through the battles between Anglo-America in the central American regions while Palmerston occupied foreignmission for the third time. The whole article is divided as the followingparts:The first chapter is to summarize the status of the Central Americanregions in the early nineteen century. With the development of Americanindependence revolution, the colonial rule of Spain in Central Americanregions collapsed, and countries in Central America gained their independenceand constituted"CentralAmerican Republic Union"soon after, which was broken up after over tenyears, and established their own countries separately. During this period,Occident participated Central American regions immediately which finally leadto the status of two sides'struggling for this region.The second chapter mainly discussed the battles between Anglo-America in Central American regions, and Britain was in the ascendant while America wasin the inferior position temporarily. The relationship between Anglo-Americawas quite strident while Palmerston Knight occupied foreign mission for thethird time, because those two countries both wanted to expand their force inCentral American regions. During this period, Britain and America maintainedtheir interests in Central American regions through diplomacy measure. From1846 to the early of 1848, the America was fasten on battles, so that theircovetting on Central America had to slow down. Meanwhile, the BritishIndustrial Revolution was basically finished, and decided to output theirrevolutionary harvest. Before this, Britain had savored the sweet ofexpanding from external invading to China, India and Afghanistan and so on,Which made Britain naturally invade to Central American regions. Therefore,during these several years, the scrabble for Central American regions betweenBritain and America, America was inferior to Britain and in thedisadvantageous position.The third chapter emphasized the cross swords between Anglo-America inthe Central American regions, British advantage became weaker while that ofAmerica became better.With the end of the war between America and Mexico,American boundary problems were resolved.The precedent of American successfulexpanding and the overflow of current expanding thoughts supplied Americafavorable political environments and steering thinking for the scrabbling onCentral American regions between America and Britain. At the meantime, therevolution movements happened in almost the whole Europe in 1848. Although itdidn't happen in local Britain, it took eyes on the revolution status in theEuropean continent for its country's interests.Furthermore, the emerging"Eastern Question"consumed its much more vigor. Under this condition ofhistorical composition of forces, British influence on Middle-Americanregions was weakening while that of America was going up. Therefore, in orderto resolve the conflict on Central American regionsboth parties signed"Clayton-Bulwer Treaty", which settled both sides' conflicts temporarily and relaxed their relations.
