An Analysis Of The Main America Think-Tanks' Research Features On China

So far,the United States think tank has a hundred years of development history.Think tank is the gathering of social elites as well as the birthplace of ideas and policies,having an important influence on the political,economic and diplomatic decisions of the United States.Nowadays,think tanks has been regarded as an important force in the US power structure.In recent decades,China has made remarkable achievements in the fields of politics,economy,culture and social management.The international status has been increasing day by day,and the comprehensive national strength has been increasing.For a better understanding of china's rapid development,the United States set off a wave of Chinese research on China,trying to analyze China's economic and social achievements.Since the beginning of the 21st century,Sino-US relations have been regarded as the most important and special bilateral relations in the world which have surpassed the scope of the two countries and attached great importance on the whole world.The American think tank is a stage of close contact between academics and government officials as well as an important force in the political power structure of the United States,which dictates the major political,military and diplomatic decisions of the United States.The American think tank's research on China is also a reflection of Sino-US relationship at the realistic level.In the 2015 global think tank report,the United States has six think tanks in the top ten,namely the Brookings Institution,the Carnegie Foundation for International Peace,the International Strategic Research Center,the Foreign Relations Committee,the Rand Corporation and the Woodrow Wilson International Scholars The study of the six think tanks on China is more,but in order to be objective and comprehensive grasp of the US study in China,to reduce the error of the study error,this paper selected a different type of think tank,and have different Political position of the four think tanks as the research object,namely the Center for Strategic and International Studies,Brookings Institution,Rand Corporation and External Relations Committee.First of all,the author introduces the basic development of the four think tanks,analyzing the history of the development of the think tank,type and basic political stance,and secondly,collects the four major intellectual property websites publics from 2007 to 2016,analyzing the basic situation,the knowledge production ability and the characteristic of the four major think tanks;and then then summed up the different categories and positions of the think tanks 'research characteristics.Thereby,we can grasp the research tendency of American mainstream think tanks and finally analyzed the reason of such a tendency.Through the analysis of the American think tank's research in China,it will provide a valuable reference for policy makers and provide direction for policymakers to deal with Sino-US relations and to formulate US policy.
