This article first stated the core competencies, career characteristics and their changing relationship with organizations of knowledge worker in Chinese culture background, and combined the new research direction of employee-organization relationship, then stated the significance and motivation of this studySecondly, this study focused on factors of perceived organizational support (POS), perceived supervisor support (PSS), affective commitment, job self-efficiency and work performance (task performance and contextual performance) and the relationships between them through literature review about these areas, and in this step we brought forward hypothesis and the conception model of this study.The methods we used to test our hypotheses and model were literature summarizing, questionnaire test in small scales, questionnaire survey to collect data. The data analysis was run though the software of SPSS 15.0 and LISREL 8.7. In our conclusions, the hypoheses were largely supported, and we also got new inspirations. All the conclusions were listed as follows:(1) The concept of POS and PSS and their measurement are also proper for the knowledge workers in Chinese culture.(2) POS is strongly related to and positive with affective commitment.(3) PSS is strongly related to affective commitment and job self-efficiency, and is positive with contextual performance.(4) Affective commitment is strongly related to job self-efficiency and the two aspects of work performance, and is positive to job self-efficiency and contextual performance.(5) Job self-efficiency is strongly related to and positive with task performance.(6) Affective commitment can partly mediate the relationship of POS and contextual performance, and no mediation between POS and task performance (7) Job self-efficiency can partly mediate the relationship of affective commitment and task performance, and no mediation between PSS and task performance...
