| WWW.CRAIGSLIST.COM, run by 23 partners, is a successful player in cyberspace. It can be defined as a post classified website. Because of its popularity in San Francisco, the entity can earn more than $10 million per year.Due to the attraction of the business model of CRAGSLIST, some practitioner in China has copied the model to launch a similar website-The WWW.GGLOOK.COM. Based in Chengdu, it was built in Oct 18 2006, as a website specialized in classified ads. The developers used the prototype of CRAGSLIST as the basis for programming the operational system.From the beginning, the team simply followed their best instincts and implemented the models that appeared to be logical .But the initial reactions was not encouraging and the model do not seem to work in this inland city. Prototyping works performing not well characterized by inconsiderable user interaction, lacking large number of users, unpredictable user behavior, non-profitable ads post promotion, etc.The future solution as we design would be to build a net-community, integrated content and business model. Speeding up the internal cooperation in the website, the team should focus their effort to design a all-win solution. The solution requires some essential ingredient: management, large numbers of users, quick delivery, and innovative system. |
