The United States of America and People's Republic of China are the biggest developed country and developing country respectively. The economic and trade relationship between China and the US has been developed into one of the most important economic and trade relationship of the world. Both China and the US have gained outstanding economic benefits from the extending economic and trade communication.. However, a tough problem emerges with the expansion of the bilateral trade. That is, American trade deficit with China is also expanding and the gap is larger and larger. Therefore, various kinds of trade frictions have appeared between the two countries. Especially China, has suffered a lot .How to treat the question of Sino-US bilateral trade balance, explain it fairly and impersonally in theory and solve it rationally to gain a win-win result will influence the full-scale development of the Sino-US economic and trade relationship.A lot of data, charts and statistic material are used in this essay. Rigorous logical discussion and abundant factual analysis approve the proposition that industry transfer is the deep-seated reason to Sino-US trade deficit from multi aspects .And in the end of the essay, I will analyze the imbalance between China and U.S. gives us an opportunity to develop bilateral trade better and faster. The essay is divided into eight chapters.Chapter one introduces the background, value, originality and research method of the essay, and sum up the theories of Sino-US trade deficit.Chapter two introduces the present situation of the imbalance of bilateral trade, especially the main products of the bilateral trade, the trade sum of money, and the main products of the imbalance of the Sino-US trade.Chapter three introduces the main explanations of the Sino-US goods trade imbalance, involves statistics, exchange rate, U.S. domestic economic problem, service trade and export control of America, and so on.Chapter four introduces the definition and the present situation of the industry transfer, and gives convenience to discuss the influence, which the industry transfer plays on the Sino-US trade imbalance.Chapter five is the keystone of this essay, which analyzes the effects of industry transfer played on Sino-US trade deficit demonstratively. This proposition is discussed from FDI. On the one hand, with the development of the American FDI, a lot of products are produced and distributed in China through FDI, which are directly exported from US to China in the past. In this way, the products substitute for import from US. On the other hand, FDI accelerate the China export to the US. The two ways of FDI promotes trade deficit larger and larger.Chapter six is the keystone of this essay too, which analyzes the effects of the trade transfer bring by FDI. China's trade surplus with US becomes large, and the same time China's trade deficit with East Asian countries becomes large too. And the scale of the American total foreign trade increases, while trade deficit with East Asia reduces. So the expanding of the American foreign trade deficit couldn't attribute to East Asia.Chapter seven indicates that it is not logical to weigh the gains and losses of economic benefits with the balance of trade. In fact nowadays Sino-US trade brings China trade benefits, and the same time plays a big importance on the US domestic economic balance, the industry structure regulation and the customer's welfare enhancement.Chapter eight gives a conclusion that if we want to develop Sino-US trade, we must recognize that Sino-US trade gives all of us benefit. Don't only pay attention to the trade deficit between China and US. Only in this way could we develop Sino-US trade better and faster.
