With the development of the internet in China and the growth of the people who surf on the internet since 21 century, the information quantities in web portals are more and more required by the net citizen. Recent years, a lot of professional web portals spring up in China, such as: Autohome, which provides information about automobiles; Eastmoney, which offers financial and economical information. These web sites earn curtain reputation in their field which relate to internet. At the same time, they have a large number of potential customers. However, they have to face the problems about how to improve the profit model they have already had, to create a barrier their opponents cannot compete with, get more potential customers, and make more profit. The author discuss the profit model about T On-line, and the ways about how to improve the current profit model in the updated internet environment, and make more value.This paper has done the research on T On-line by using The long tail, The Theory about Profit Model, The Theory about the maximum income of economics of Internet systematically.The author first introduces some related theories about profit model; then analyzes the T On-line's development; third, dissects the advantages and disadvantages about current profit model of T On-line; in the end, the author studies the structure of T On-line's new profit model and the extension in WEB2.0.The author wishes the paper can give some useful revelations to the professional web portals which want to enhance the profitability and improve the Competitiveness.
