Electronic Information Industry Cluster Determinants And The Development Of Dynamic Research

After three industry revolutions marked respectively by mechanization, electrification,automation,the history of mankind has ushered the fourth wave of industry revolution characterized by informationization. Just against this back- ground,electronic information industry which produces mainly elctronic information porducts and software has become the strategical industry and the leader of the world's informationization development by the virtue of its high development speed in the 1990s. At the same time,the forms of industry organizations are also changing with each passing day. Especially,cluster- mode has become the most distinctive and competitive one of the forms of industry organization in the world. The development of industrial clustes in respective area of the world can be discribed as blossoming of flowers of many kinds. For example,film and television entertainment industry in Hollywood of USA,Toyota City in Japan,furniture manufacturing industry in Oyonnax of France,small commodities city—Yiwu in Zhejiang Province of China and so on are respectively making economies stride forward rapidly with a magnificent momentum. Electronic information industry has been gathering around the world basing on its unique industrial characteristics, and has made brilliant achievements. Silicon Valley in USA,Cambridge of UK,Thuringen of Germany,Bangalore of India, Zhongguancun of China,Xinzhu of Taiwan and so on all have become the aggregating district of electronic information industry,and are leading the development direction of global electronic information industry. Practice shows that the industrial cluster of electronic information industry is an effective development mode which can quickly upgrade the competitiveness of electronic information industry.Since reform and opening up,China's electronic information industry has realized rapid development. In 2003, its output value leapt to the second best in the world. Electronic information industry clusters also formed from scratch,and will continue to grow and develop. A lot of electronic and information enterprises have gathered in Beijing's Zhongguancun, Dongguan of Guangdong,Kunshan of Jiangsu, the central and western regions as Wuhan of Hubei,Chengdu of Sichuan,Chongqing, Xi'an in Shanxi and other places. With the agglomeration economy,the areas are continuously enhancing the competitiveness of industry and regional economy. In order to reveal the theoretical nature behind the agglomeration economy and ensure industrial clusters to develop faster and sounder,theoretical workers from all sectors of the community have been analysizing and researching on the industrial cluster from different angles. It is the main content of this article researching on determinant factors and driving forces of electronic information industry clusters. The analysis of the whole aritcle spreads from the four levels:Firstly,summarizing the basic theories of industrial clusters including the concepts,the natures,the classification methods, the measurement methods and the forming mechanism of industrial clusters; Secondly,explaining the determinant factors from the angle of characteristics of the electronic information industry;Thirdly,probing into the forces which drive electronic information industry clusters to progress;In the end, taking electronic information industrial clusters in Sichuan Province as an example of empirical research,analysizing driving forces of the electronic information industrial cluster,and bringing forward policies to hasten the sustainable development of electronic information industrial clusters in Sichuan Province.
