Our listed joint-stock commercial banks are the important member of not only our national economy, but also our capital market. So it is very important for us to have a financial analysis of them. It helps us to improve the listed commercial banks, to develop our financial system, to perfect our financial market and capital market, and to promote our national economy. The essay first introduces the basic situations of our listed commercial banks about their history, features and functions, and strategic position. Then it analysis their financial situations from 2004 to 2006, main including 3 parts: operating results, capital strength and solvency. At last comes a conclusion: the listed commercial banks improve their financial situations. The state-owned listed commercial banks have advantages in capital strength and operating results, but the non-state-owned listed commercial banks operate more sound systems, have more reasonable financial structures and faster development.First, the listed commercial banks have a rapid income development while controlling cost, so they gain good operating results. Second, they expand in size of asset and capital, perfect the asset structure, so they enhance their capital strength. Also, they perfect the liability structure and reduce the rate-liability/asset, so they strengthen their solvency. But there are also some problems because the financial market and capital market are not very mature, and the listed commercial banks' operating systems are not very sound. The first problem is that the structures of business, asset and liability of listed commercial banks are not perfect. Second, their asset quality is not good enough, and capital gains are not high. Finally, their private capitals are too low, and rate-liability/asset is too high, so there is much financial risk. All these restrict development of listed commercial banks.
