China's Foreign Direct Investment Location Choice

Chinese economy has experienced 30-year rapid growth and obtained remarkable achievements ever since the reforming and opening-up policy.With absorbing huge foreign direct investment to speed domestic economy growth successfully,more and more Chinese enterprises are stepping out to the global stage to enhance their competitive abilities through outward foreign direct investment(FDI) under the "going out" strategy.The volume of China's outward FDI has become the 13^th of the world and the No.1 among developing countries.Based on summary and analysis of previous studies on foreign direct investment, this paper analyses the development history,motivations,location characteristics and intemational comparison of China's outward FDI;it creates a Motivation-Location Model from the angle of enterprise motivations in China's outward FDI,mainly focused on the host country location factors to serve enterprises' decision-making.Then the paper discusses the problems existed in China's current outward FDI location choice and finally provides specific advice for enterprises,government and the service market to promote further development of China's outward FDI location choice.
