With the globalization of economy and aggravating competition of the market day and day, customer centric logistic management face more complex environment and more stronger opponent. The competition among every enterprise has transferred to cost from products quality or other factors. Logistics cost is one of the most important enterprise cost. More and more enterprises focus on it. The optimization on logistics cost have become critical ways for enterprises to win Core competitiveness.As we all know, Inventory cost and transportation cost are two major parts of total logistics cost. It account for the vast majority. These two costs exist trade-off relation each other. On the condition of keeping customer service level, the optimization on the logistics cost and reduce on inventory cost and transportation cost are the key research direction of this paper.Based on related theory of Logistics cost and also the control of them, this paper create a optimization model of inventory and transportation cost. There are two parts in this model: the inventory material decision-making model and the transportation mode of the material decision-making model. The model also consider the infection of the kind of materials of Z company. According to the contrast between the data before and after using the model on transportation freight, inventory level and structure of Z company , we conclude that the model is feasible and available for importing operation in Z company.The model in this paper is made to order for Z company, but the thoughtway to creating it is referenced and instructional for many companies such as importing and exporting agency, importing and exporting department, logistic supplier and etc.
