Economic Relations Of China And Asean Countries After The Cold War Construct

ASEAN near to China lines between the Asian continent and Oceania,which communicates with the Pacific and the Indian Ocean,it is of great significance in the international transport and strategic status. Currently the zone is rich in resources, social stabilizes,all states have full economic development,considered to be the world's most dynamic and fastest growing emerging markets. China is now taking economic development as the primary objectives of their own development. Based on this background,If China and ASEAN countries can forge closer economic and trade cooperation,raise the level of cooperation,It must have positive significance for the region's economic development and global economic stability.Based on the domestic land international research achievements, the paper explored the the regional economic cooperation of China and the ASEAN in chronological order from the end the cold war, which is supported by the Political Economy theory. Great changes have taken place about the economic order and the political order after the cold war. Based on those changes and the historical memory and the national interest, China and ASEAN have refresh their perception to each other. They look each other as a cooperative competitor, but in their eyes, especially in ASEAN countries eyes, China is still a qualm to them. In the year 1997, the Southeast Asia financial crisis happened. This is a turning point of the perception between China and ASEAN. China present a'responsible great power'image to the world, ASEAN's identity to China became more friendly and trustful. And the two sides'economic cooperation turned active and energetic. The positive interaction promote the friendly perception in circle. After the Southeast Asia financial crisis, China and ASEAN realized the importance of the mechanisms, and tried to establish the economic cooperation in mechanisms. The China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) is one case. In conclusion, the writer discuss the importance of the active policy's role in China and ASEAN'economic relations. Through the positive interaction of each side, they established a kind of friendly and warmly attitude to each other, and this promote the cooperation in circle.
