This paper mainly focuses on the present state of Chinese listed banks in perspective of corporate governance, which consists of two main categories with following 3 items: 1) regulatory framework of Chinese listed banks; 2)ownership structure of the banks, including the nature of the majority shareholder: state-owned, entity-owned or owned by a foreign company(here we assume the banks' largest shareholder is the owner) and the concentration rate of the ownership structure in terms of the percentage of the largest shareholder; 3) structure and function of the board of directors: its size, the number of independent directors, the duality of CEO and the chairman of the board and number of supervisors. We will analyze the recent evolution of the corporate governance of the Chinese listed banks and then compare it with non-listed banks in china and Italian listed commercial banks...
