Zhengzhou City Exhibition Economic Development Strategy Study

Exhibition, originating from Europe, have now developed into an economic form—exhibition economy. With the globalization of world economy and regional economic integration, the exhibition industry is growing in a rather fast manner, and the momentum quite strong. It is playing an increasingly important role in the economic development and become one of the most important industries in the Third Industry.Exhibition industry in China, starting quite late, is an emerging industry. With the improvement of its economic market system, China's exhibition economy has made substantial progress, and its high-growth, high-efficiency have won it the name "booster" and "barometer" of economy, which reflects the state of a nation's economy.Since the 90's, along with the expansion of China's opening up and sustained and steady economic development, the exhibition industry in Zhengzhou have been developing in a rather rapid manner and become a new growth point of economy in Zhengzhou.In this paper literature analysis will be first employed to collect, classify and analyze the theories and research findings of economic development home and abroad, in order to provide a theoretical basis for this study. Survey analysis is then used to investigate the construction of Zhengzhou Exhibition venues and events held in recent years. Basing on this, the author will make an analysis about Zhengzhou regional advantages in holding exhibitions and the major existing problems.Through study, this paper puts forward a strategic goal of the economic development of exhibition in Zhengzhou, and encounter measures on the implementation of the strategy. The specific measures are: strengthen the role of governmental and trade associations in the exhibition's role in economic development; make a sound financial system to provide additional sources of funding; establish brand awareness, build quality show, speed up exhibition economy development in Zhengzhou; learn from the past and foster the specialty of the exhibition economy in Zhengzhou.
