After the development for 50 years, especially the reform and opening up for more than 20 years of development, China's equipment manufacturing industry made a series of major achievements and has formed a complete range, with a considerable scale and level of the equipment manufacturing industry system has become an important pillar of the economic development of industry, the scale of the manufacturing sector has won the fifth largest place in the world. A total of above-scale equipment manufacturing enterprises are about 55,000, employing nearly 15 million people, and the added value accounted for 10.8% of GDP, taxes in the state's financial revenue of 5.5%.However, China's equipment manufacturing industry is big but not strong, and quality is no good , the ability of independent innovation is weak Competitiveness in the international is not so strong, compared with the advanced international level, China's technical equipment manufacturing industry still has a significant gap.With the development of the IT industry in South China, the equipment manufacturing industry has also made a considerable development, and now with the auto industry in southern China's industrial layout, there will bring about some new challenges.Painting equipment is the equipment to cover the surface of metal and non-metallic, the industry in Guangdong began from the 1980s of the 20th century, and developed in the 1990s, and now with the development of Jiangshu and Zhejiang Province, there will have much more competition,how to improve the level of technological innovation for Guangdong coating equipment manufacturing industry, and how to build a core competitiveness of the industry need everyone to think.Based on the recalled for the theory of technology management and industry cluster ,the author attempt to propose the idea that the equipment manufacturing industry of South China develop and innovate with the cluster, and also the author give some suggestion for the development of the painting equipment manufacturing industry.The main contents include the following: First , introduce the general situation about China equipment manufacturing and painting industry;Second, give a simple review on the theory of technological innovation and industrial cluster , then through the analysis on the model of the technological innovation ability ,establish the model of technological innovation capability, confirm the conclusion that the cluster organizations can effectively improve cluster'technological innovation ability , and further that the useful of development of industrial clusters of enterprises to promote the role of the exposition Through the method of system analysis, Analysis the feasibility and necessity of Guangdong'equipment manufacturing industry ;At last based on summing up the experience of typical industry cluster in the world, we give some advice for the development of Guangdong painting equipment manufacturing industry cluster.
