Industrial Transfer In East Asia Region And China's Foreign Trade Imbalance

In recent years, China's foreign trade has got rapid developing, and exports have been great growing. But, at the same time, the problem of foreign trade imbalance has become apparently. The imbalance of China's foreign trade includes two aspects: on one hand, China has great trade surplus to US and EU; on the other hand, China has great trade deficit to the countries of the East Asia, mainly including Japan, South Korea and Taiwan province. By comparative analysis of data, we think that the reason of the trade imbalance is the transfer of labor-incentive industries from East Asia to China main land. The industrial transfer has both advantages and disadvantages to our economy development, on one hand, it improved the foreign trade structure, the national income and industrial structure of China; on the other hand, it brought trade friction, the pressure of RMB appreciation. So, we must have object view of industrial transfer, and make it play active role in our economy developing, and avoid its negative effects. We also must well deal with the relationships of the industrial transfer and industrial structure upgrading, the domestic market and international market, the independent innovation and IPR protection.This article includes six parts. In the first part, we compared the data of foreign trade between China and US, EU, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan province, and pointed that China's foreign trade is imbalance. In the second part, at the basis of the previous, we come to the conclusion that the reason of the trade imbalance is the transfer of labor-incentive industries from East Asia to China main land. In the third part, we discussed the background, the pros and cons of industrial transfer. In the fourth part, we put forward countermeasures and suggestions. In the fifth part, we probed the development of industrial transfer under the new situation, such as, loan crisis meeting, introduction of the new labor law and so on. At last part, we listed systematically the theories of international industrial transfer.
