The word "standard" has been frequently cited in our daily life, and also become the focus of economy, politics, society and culture. In the wave of globalization and informatization, the significance and value of the standard have gone beyond its technical scope, which makes it imperative to study "standard" from a wider perspective, focusing on the essence and dynamic mechanism of the standardization. As far, the standard competition has spread from industries to countries, and moreover, it becomes the highlight of big powers. How to take the lead and obtain the overwhelming power in the standard competition has been the decisive premise to the national development and prosperity.With the broader sense definition of "standard", this paper studies the standard and its competition mechanism with the theory of global governance, which can be applied in the practice of China's standardization strategies. Firstly, this paper studies the globalization characteristics and working mechanism of the standard, which greatly strengthen the interactive relationship between globalization and standard. Furthermore, it also highlights the significance of standard governance to the formation of standard pattern and the restructuring of the international political and economic map. Secondly, this paper elaborates the profound transformation caused by globalization in various aspects of economy and society, which helps reshape the social management mode from the governmental administration to the global governance. Therefore, standard governance may be unavoidably branded with global governance. In comparison with the traditional governmental administration, standard governance, because of its global characteristics, has developed some tendency and attributes of multi-party, multi-level and imperfection. Thirdly, this paper uniquely summarizes the mode of "good governance" as blends of multi-party and multi-level governance. Finally, this paper testifies the "good governance" mode in the practice of China's standardization, and makes a strategic proposal for China's standard governance.
