After the Cold War,the changes in the international political and economic structure created conditions for the rapid development of globalization. While globalization has promoted the close development of relations between countries in the world,it has also triggered a series of global issues. The emergence of these global issues and challenges has become the driving force behind the development of global governance. As a useful exploration, the G20 plays an important role in global governance. In fact,G20 is an informal dialogue mechanism under the Bretton Woods system. It was established in Berlin in 1999 after the outbreak of the Asian financial crisis. After ten years of development, the Ministerial Meeting was upgraded to the Leaders Summit after the global financial crisis in 2008.In this paper, the post-Cold War globalization process is divided into the period of rapid development of globalization(1991 ~ 1999),the period of steady globalization(1999 ~ 2008)and the period of weaker globalization(2008 ~ now),based on the Asian financial crisis and the 2008 global financial crisis. As the background, the G20,which was created and upgraded during the crisis, was discussed.During the forced reform of the crisis, the G20 continued to evolve, from the Ministerial Meeting to the Leaders Summits and became the primary forum for global economic cooperation.Explained that in response to process requirements, the upgraded G20 is also undergoing a transition from crisis governance to long-term governance, from cyclical governance to structural governance, and from countermeasured governance to institutional governance.Looking at the transformation process of G20 in the process of globalization, the governance model of G20 has realized the transcendence of the governance model of G7 and has played an important role in reshaping the global economic governance system in the process of self-transformation.However,the background of the era of anti-globalization poses new challenges to the transformation of the G20.Its follow-up development space, standardization of issues, strengthening of mutual evaluation functions, and improvement of openness are the keys to improving its governance capabilities. At the same time,China should transform its ever-increasing self-power into the ability to participate in global governance and share its new spiritual philosophy. Therefore,China needs to have a clearer understanding of the goals of participation in global governance and have a more complete understanding of the organizational process. In the process of G20 governance transformation,it will influence its governance mechanism, shape its strategic objectives, implement its philosophy values, and make active efforts to build a community of human destiny.
