In recent years, in the course of China’s urban demolition more and more violence increased, and thus caused a range of issues, and gradually formed the dilemma of urban demolition. This made the three parties of local government, developers and ordinary people to be in a state of loss. The legitimacy of government lost and the regulatory was invalid; the cost of developers and the risk increased;and the ordinary people’s right and interests suffered. Many reasons caused those dilemma, but we think conflicts of interest are the root causes of the imbalance in the relationship between "government-developers-people"; the alienation of public power is the direct cause of that; inadequate laws and regulations is the important reason for that and the people’s lack of ability to safeguard their rights is another important reason. However, management concepts and implementation mechanisms of the local government play a more important role in urban demolition. Through researching governance theory especially good governance, and analysing the domestic and foreign relevant good cases in urban demolition, we find that good governance will provide a way to solve the dilemma. The way to local government’s good governance in urban demolition is to practise the six characteristics of the good governance. including legitimacy, transparency, accountability, rule of law, responsiveness and effectiveness. So we can realize a reform in management concepts and implementation mechanisms of local government, and achieve three win-win and balance of the relationship in the three parties in urban demolition.
