From the midst of 2008,the global economic crisis that started as the sub-loans lending crisis in the America has spread to many other countries in the world.Many international and domestic companies prepare for the cold winter by shrinking the line.The private enterprises suffered more from the crisis.We all know that "A man without distant care must have near sorrow".A company with a clear.and feasible developing strategy owns more chances to survive over the crisis and walk longer. From the eighties of last century,in order to fit the requirement of the diversification market and decrease the risks,many private enterprises began to expand the scope and used the diversification strategy.The diversification strategy is also successfully adopted the many companies in China.However,much more private enterprises resulted in a tough situation and had to quit the market because of it.Many people began to doubt that whether the diversification stretegy is suitable for the company and making profit for them.More studies are conducted for the diversification strategy,and a theory named "Refocusing" comes into being。Confused with these two different thoughts,many private enterprises have no idea how to choose one based on their situation and make a suitable strategy.This paper take SHENZHEN MICROTECH INSTRUMENT CO..LTD.as a research aim,and take the method combining theory into practice,make use of PEST,SWOT,SPACE,value chain etc.management tools to analyze SHENZHEN MICROTECH INSTRUMENT CO.,LTD.'s current business condition.Through the analysis of core ability using core ability ration valuation model the core competence of SHENZHEN MICROTECH INSTRUMENT CO.,LTD.are "MT" brand - a graduating famous microscope brand and advantages of related R&D design,market channel.Howerver,for other reasons such as economic situation and cash flow and etc.SHENZHEN MICROTECH INSTRUMENT CO.,LTD.can not give up the diversification management - business of survey apparatus selling and related service.In light of the research result,SHENZHEN MICROTECH INSTRUMENT CO.,LTD.should re-plan the new development strategy.The development strategy for SHENZHEN MICROTECH INSTRUMENT CO.,LTD.is diversification development strategy based on core competence and at the same time to expand its core competence as well as to make stronger and bigger of main business.
