The success of the intergenerational succession in family business is the key to ensure the evergreen and sustainable development of the family business. However, most family businesses are doomed to the destiny of"Rich only within three generations", which means that great men's sons seldom do well. During a period, the sustainable development of most Chinese family businesses still rely on the pattern"Son takes over the business of his father". The research on family business was ignored in past time, while many researchers in different academic fields begin to pay attention to the intergenerational succession of family businesses recently. So, the research on the intergenerational succession of family businesses has profound and lasting meaning both of theory and reality.Based on the current national grounding, the thesis focus on the affluent second generation, that is"the generation born with a silver spoon in his mouth", exploring the influencing factors in the intergenerational succession of family businesses based on the investigation, and put forward some advices for the evergreen and sustainable development of family businesses. The main consequences of the thesis as follows:(1)Refining of the influencing factors.The analysis of the factors in intergenerational succession is based on four aspects: the entrepreneur,the affluent second generation, the inner factors in the firm and some other affecting factors. Each aspect has different influencing factors. Besides, the summary of the talks with entrepreneurs of different family businesses test and verify the influencing factors further.(2)Constitution of theoretical models. The thesis constitutes two academic models: the scales of entrepreneurs'psychological and the theoretical model of cultivating the affluent second generation.(3) Measures and advices.To promote the sustainable development of the family business, entrepreneurs should put more time on the education and training of their offspring firstly. Secondly, the clear"3W-H"succession plan should be made. Thirdly, handle well the extent of"seize"and"free"in the intergenerational succession. Fourthly, inherit and reconstruct the enterprise culture. Fifth, construct the coordinating system of contradiction and strictly distinguish the system and the family emotion. Sixth, construct a project of training the affluent second generations with the efforts of government and society.The contribution of the thesis may depend on the complex of data analysis and cases research, the survey involves many family businesses in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces and the theoretical models are constructed based on the survey experience.
