| Eco-tourism is a special and sustainable form of tourism, which stresses on the basis of nature, focusing on environmental protection, the science education and community participation. Eco-tourism is considered as the best choice to coordinate tourism development and environment protection, which is the reason why eco-tourism can quickly be accepted by society. Eco-tourism scenic spot development contributes greatly to the eco-environmental protection, economic development and social progress.This paper puts forwards a more systematic exposition on eco-tourism and eco-tourism scenic spot. Based on the analysis of the domestic and international canyon eco-tourism scenic spot cases, mode summary and canyon eco-tourism scenic spot development, the general pattern of canyon eco-tourism scenic spot development is proposed. That is, we take environmental protection as the premise, depending on eco-tourism resources and tourism market to excavate the ecological culture deeply, to cultivate the eco-tourism product reasonably and selectively. In the course of scenic spot development, we should attach much importance on the combined function of active participation of local communities, the eco-tourism planning, the eco-tourism facilities'improvement, the operation and management of scenic spot. And the ecological environment must be monitored in the process of scenic spot development.The paper takes study of canyon scenic spot in Danhe River in Zezhou County, Shanxi Province, as a case. Basing on the analysis of development conditions of Danhe River canyon scenic spot, this paper considers that Danhe River canyon scenic spot suits the general pattern of canyon eco-tourism scenic spot. But according to the special feathers of Danhe River canyon scenic spot, the paper constructs a development pattern on the basis of development themes, development principles, market positioning, image design, eco-tourism product development, community participation, monitoring and compensation of ecological environment, investment and management modes, tourism image and marketing. That is to say, the pattern takes environmental protection as the premise in Danhe River, the eco-tourism products as a leader, basing on eco-tourism resources and tourism market. Through scientific eco-tourism planning and the eco-tourism facilities building, it embodies the function of ecological education, concerning with community interests, paying attention to the environment monitoring and ecology compensation.In conclusion, in order to guide the Danhe River canyon scenic spot development better, we need make great deal of researches about Danhe River canyon scenic spot planning, including functional localization, general layout, spatial structure, the development of eco-tourism product, the organization of tour line, the services to tourists, environmental capacity and so on..
