As a special force in the modern market economy, medium-sized and small enterprises (MSEs) have played an irreplaceable role in the development of national economies of both developed and developing countries. During the rapid development of the diversified world economy, all countries have gradually realized the great contribution made by the MSEs to the growth of their national economies. Therefore, by formulating appropriate policies and institutions, the governments are providing a sound and healthy environment for the development of MSEs. However, these MSEs still face grave survival crisis. Because the capital is the heart of an enterprise, the essence for the development of an enterprise, successful financing is a premise for the growth and prosperity of the MSEs. Financing difficulty is not an individual problem happening in a single country temporarily. Instead, it has obsessed all countries for a long time with different severities. Currently, financing difficulty has become the most severe and fundamental problem impeding the development of MSEs in China.Compared with the large enterprises, MSEs are small, with low creditability, and are not able to guarantee the products quality. Such internal deficits have strangled the financing of MSEs. However, the insufficient support from Chinese government, the strong discrimination from the financial institutions including banks, incomplete credit guarantee system along with the transforming of national macro-economic environment under the influence of financial crisis have pushed the financing of MSEs to the edge. Therefore, we have no time to waste in solving the financing difficulty of MSEs.The first chapter proposes the research approach and mentality on the basis of analyzing the background and significance of the financing difficulty of MSEs.The second chapter summarizes the current situation of the research conducted in different countries and regions, and provides relevant literature reviews. The third chapter raises the financing theory for the research of this thesis. The fourth chapter points out the status quo of the financing of MSEs in China, and elaborates the reasons. Finally, concerning the current situation of financing of MSEs in the international financial crisis, we propose that we should conduct innovation in financing subjects, financing markets, financing channels and financing supportive systems, thus constitute an innovative system for the financing of MSEs in the international financial crisis.
