The first part is an introduction, focusing on the background and significance of the subject as well as the methodology employed in the thesis.The second part is the review of literature, focusing on the researches done by scholars home and abroad. An analysis is made on the conclusions reached by the experts and the relevant literature involved.The third part is theoretical analysis. First, an introduction is made to the concepts and theories on company performance and executive's shareholding. Then, the mutual influence is expounded from a theoretical perspective:incentive model and control right model are employed to analyze the motives, and its advantages and disadvantages with regard to the shareholding vs company performance; then, the counteraction of performance to shareholding is dealt with; next, a general description is made about the subject under the Chinese specific circumstances, and a careful investigation is conducted in terms of different industries, laying a theoretical basis for the sampling in Part 4. Finally, the external factors, which have influence on motivating executives, are studied, paving the way for the control variables in the fourth part and proposals in the fifth part.The fourth part is an empirical study. An assumption is offered about the relativity between company performance and executive shareholding. Parallel data on state-owned public companies and private-owned ones are stressed. A multi-dimensional regression model is constructed to test the relevance in segment, and the result is analyzed, thus reaching a conclusion.The fifth part is about the conclusion and the prospect. Based on the conclusion reached, proposed policies, motivating executive shareholding on the basis of company performance, are offered.
