The Aesthetic Research On The Culture Of The Grand Courtyards In Jin Zhong

As the important architectural part of chinese traditional buildings, Image wall has gone through a long history in its production and development. It embodies the rich and generous historical culture and folk culture. By making a field survey to the characteristic Grand Courtyards in Jinzhong of Shanxi Province and selecting those typical image walls in the Grand Courtyards as the object of study, the thesis analyzed the deep folk culture that image walls contain from the points of combining with history and architecture.The thesis is composed three parts:introduction, mainbody and conclusion.The main body comprises three chapters:Chapter one discusses the concept, evolution, classification, structure of the image wall. Intruduces the distribution of the image walls in Jinzhong. It establishes the bases for the entire thesis. Chapter two analyzes those image walls from the aspect of their external forms on the basis of some relative constructive customs about the Grand Courtyards in JinZhong and probes into the deeping connotation of the constrcution. Chapter three discusses about the propitious elements and appeal of the image walls in the courtyards in JinZhong. Based on the Survey materials, the thesis firstly makes a simple classification for the propitious elements of the image walls in JinZhong. Secondly, it analyzes its deep implication and points out the deep culture connotation behind the symbols of the image walls of the Grand Courtyards in JinZhong.The introduction comprises the research object, the purpose and significance of the research, resources of materials, literature review, research design and methodology. Through the study of the image walls of the Grand Courtyards in JinZhong, the thesis makes a conclusion which summarizes the main ideas of this article, which points out that image wall is the material carrier of the Business Culture of JinZhong. It accumulated a wealth of folk culture which loaded with the belief of the public and the ideal life style. It is a kind of rare folk cultural resources.
