Objective:Sudden hearing loss (SHL), which we call it Sudden Deafness in traditional Chinese medicine, we are not sure about its causes,so there are so many treatment which were reported effectively. Unfortunately there has been no any a kind of method is considered the most effective treatment methods. On this condition, In order to show the advantage of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine,This paper describes the important role of traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine on treating of sudden deafness important role. Especially Chinese herbal medicine. Methods:The therapeutic effects of two groups were compared with each other. To analyze 60 cases patients with Sudden hearing loss (apart from the patients with trauma, surgical trauma and serious mental illness).30 out-patients and 30 in-patients from 2008-2010, They were randomly divided into two groups,30 cases in each one. Get the pure tone text firest,Acupuncture and west medicin(injection of BAQUMEI and TIANMASU once a day) are both used in every group, Acupuncture Operation method:The Hua Tuo Brand acupuncture needle of 0.30mm in diameter and 40mm in length was selected to give needling at one of the bilateral acupoints of Ermen, Tinggong and Tinghui respectively (any two acupoints could be selected for unilateral tinnitus). The needle was vertically inserted 4 to 4.3 centimeters into the points. The uniform reinforcing-reducing method was employed without getting the needles turned clockwise and counterclockwise or pulled and pushed forcefully to get the local soreness, numbness, distension and pain and to make the acupuncture feelings run into the ear. The ChangCheng KWD-808I therapeutic equipment was connected to the end of the needle and continuous wave was selected with the intensity that patients could endure. The needles were left there for fifteen minutes each time. The treatment was given once a day and ten times formed a course. While,we ues Chinese herbal medicine(LONGDANXIEGANTANG) In control group besides west medicine.We also get pure tone text at the end of the course. In the end we will find out Whether there are statistically significant differences for both.Results:Control group clinical cured:5 cases. Remarkable effects:8 cases, effects: 11 cases. Failure:4 cases. Fall off 1 case.The total effective rate was 86.7%.Observation group clinical cured:3 cases. Remarkable effects:6 cases, effects:10 cases. Failure:10 cases. Fall off 1 case. The total effective rate was 63%. Conclusion:Chinese herbal medicine(LONGDANXIEGANTANG) is effective for the treatment of SHL.
