Observe the different efficacy between traditional Chinese medicine treatment by TCM syndrome type and leukotriene receptor modulators montelukast Turner tablets plus bronchodilator theophylline for cough variant asthma (CVA), as well as the effect of airway hyperreactivity, exploring the pathogenesis of CVA in depth and further summarizing effective rules and herbs of Chinese medicine treatment of CVA.Methods:1. With reference to Western diagnostic criteria of Cough variant asthma (CVA) and diagnostic criteria of TCM syndrome, patients were included by randomization method, and divided into two groups of syndrome differentiation observation group and western medicine treatment control group, the ratio of the observation group and the control group is2:1.2. Chinese medicine treatment group (observation group)took traditional Chinese medicine according to signs, symptoms, tongue and pulse; Western medicine group (control group) received montelukast Turner tablets (10mg,QD) and theophylline (0.2g,bid);The observing time of two groups of treatment were 14 days; Symptoms and signs were measured and airway hyperreactivity were detected by airway methacholine provocation test in Dmin, SGrs, PD35 changes, before and after treatment.3. Statistical analysis:The results were analyzed by SAS8.2 statistical software, it was considered statistically significant when the value of p was less than 0.05. (1) The patients who has meet the inclusion criteria and the qualified patients who has completed the treatment program were classified to PP set,passing off cases and evaluation of cases can be classified as ITT set. (2) Comprehensive efficacy of disease were analysed by ITT and PP set, the efficacy evaluation of symptoms were analysed by PP set. (3) Data analysis:counting data with x2 test, measurement data with the t test, paired t test, level data with the rank sum test, X2CMH test.Results:1. Clinical efficacy results:the two groups had significant differences (P<0.05), the efficacy of the observation group is better than the control group.2. TCM efficacy results:integrated TCM syndrome score improvement between the two groups were significantly different (P<0.05), the observed group was better than the control group.Comparison of individual syndromes TCM, the two group had significant differences (P<0.05), the observation group was better than the control group in improving the cough and sputum symptoms; the two group had no significant difference (P> 0.05) in improving the throat itching, chest tightness and shortness of breath symptoms.3. The effect of Airway responsiveness:Airway hyperresponsiveness has not been effectively reduced between the two groups.4. The efficacy of reducing serum eosinophil counts:Two treatment methods can not effectively reduce the eosinophil counts.5. Treatment group (observation group) and western medicine group (control group) were not found significant side effects during treatment. The ten cases has lost in the observation group, The five cases has lost in the control group.Conclusion:The observation group can effectively improve the patient's symptoms, especially in alleviating the symptoms of cough and expectoration and may relate to the mechanisms.of Xuanfei cough, reconciliation of Shaoyang, clearing away heat.
