Objective: The study was conducted to diddate the correlation of endothelin (ET) and nitric oxide (NO) with Climacteric Syndrome of imbalance between heart-yang and kidney-yin and to explore the mechanism for reversing Climacteric Syndrome by Yi Shen Ning Xin, which can privide clinical guklance tor preventing and treating Climacteric Syndrom more effectively.Methods: In Clinical study, 60 patients with Ym-defitiencyQimac^c Syndrome vvere selected as treatment team and 30 patients with YangKfcfidency30rorialdimacteric women as control teams, respectively, meanwhile ovariectomizod rats were served as animal models experimentally. Measurements of the alterations of ET,NO and so on were made prior to and posterior to administering Yi Shen Mng Xin , and the effect of Yi Shen Ning Xin anddiethl stilbestroL, while was served as control medicine, on these indices were observed.Results: The dinkxdarri laboratory study indicated that the levels ofET, NO and ET/NO are different to a varied degree from one another in these teams and the differences are correlated with the administered dose and severity of symptom.Conclusion: The alteration in ET, NO level due to Ym-deficiency of kidney and decreasing estrogen level during climacteric period is one of the principle pathological basis of Climacteric Syndrom. Moreover, the inappropriate rxoporion of ET to NO arrilhe imbalance of reciprocal resistence play a key role in the diffeention of Yin-and Yang-deficiency. Yi Shen Ning Xin is a safe, effective, economical and convenient preparation to treat Climacteric Syndrome.
