The Treatment Of Chronic Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, Chinese And Western Medicine Clinical Studies

Objective: Based on an overall analysis of signs and symptoms, Purpura Fang was created, comparing the effects and complications of every groups, then trying to find out the correlations with blood platelet antibody and subgroup of T cells, deeply investigating the better pathway to threat CITP.Method: The patients were divided into three groups. A group is the TCM treatment group, B group is the TCM with hormone group, C group is the hormone group. The observing time limits about 12 months. In the treatment period, hemorrhage and changes of signs and symptoms were observed, platelets counts were measured every two weeks and observed platelet duration of life, numbers of megakaryocytes produced by bone marrow, platelet antibody, subgroup of T cells (CD4 CD8 CD4/CD8).Result: Group B has the better effect. As for the changes of platelet counts, there is significant discrepancy in all groups before treatment and after treatment in each group (P<0. 01). For the changes of Platelet antibody, there is no discrepancy after treatment. Platelet life duration become longer after treatment in each group, B group is the best. For megakaryocytes, there is no discrepancy after treatment between groups. For CD4/CD8, there is significant discrepancy before treatment and after treatment especially for B group. As for side effect, A group is better than the other groups.Conclusion: TCM with hormone group has better effect and less side effect. All three groups bring into play their function through the immuno-regulation by cell-mediated immunity and humoral immunity, B group is better in the regulation of cell-mediated immunity.
