Objective:Shiming injection is used as Neuroprotection for focal brain cerebral ischemia in rat. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect and mechanism of Shiming injection on the experimental cerebral ischemia. Methods:In this study,we used a rat model of focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion with the block of Middle cerebral artery. The rat treated with Shiming injection after the surgery. The brain was studied by means of pathomorphology,immunohistochemi- cal examination. Results:(l)Result of brain pathology-microscope examination showed Shiming injection can prevent the decrease of Nissle body in model rat,and there was significantly difference between the hight-dose,middle-dose group and the model-group.(2)Compared with the model-group,the expression of 1C AM-1 in brain vascular endothelial cell was lower in the high-dose Shiming injection treated group (P<0.05) .(3) Shiming injection can refrain the expression of in the cerebral ischemia, the expression of iNOS in the brain of high-dose and low-dose group is lower than the model group(P<0.05).(4) Shiming injection can refrain the expression of Caspase-3 in the cerebral ischemia, the expression of Caspase-3 in high-dose and low-dose group was lower compared with the model group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The results of experiment suggest that Shiming injection can refrain the neuron cell damage after focal cerebral ischemia reperfusion, and protect the neuron cell. The possible mechanism is refrain expression of ICAM-1 in vascular endothelial cell;decrease the expression of iNOS and Caspase-3.
