| Objective The purpose of this study was to explore the change of plasma P-selectin(Ps), PGI2 and serum nitrous oxide(NO) on experimental atherosclerosis in rabbits. And following for further investigate the effects of Resolving stasis eliminating phelgm granule on AS. Methods 24 New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into 3 groups.Normal control group were fed with regular rabbit diet , hyper-cholesterol group were fed with 1% cholesterol and 5% lard diet and Chinese herbs(CH) group were fed with 1% cholesterol and 5% lard diet and Resolving stasis eliminating phelgm granule. At the end of 12th and 18th weeks experiment, serum lipids, NO and 6-keto-prostaglandin(PG)F1 alpha concentrations and histopathological changes of were followed. Result At the end of 12th week experiment, serum total cholesterol, tyiglyceride, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and plasma Ps concentrations in HC group and hyper-cholesterol group increased obviously as compared with those of normal group (p<0. 05 ), while the level of N0> 6-keto-PGF1alpha, HDL-c decreased (p<0.01). At the end of 18th week experiment, serum total cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and plasma Ps concentration decreased in CH group as compared with those of hyper-cholesterol group (p<0. 05) and serum NO, plasma 6-keto-PGFia level increased as compared with those of hyper-cholesterol group (p<0, 05). The area of lipid deposition on the intimal surface of the aorta reduced and the ultrastructural injuries of Ecs were milder in CH group. Conclusion During the progression of atherosclerosis, functions of endothelial cells is broken . And Resolving stasis eliminating phelgm granule has excellent effect on the regulation of the serum lipid level and indexes of atherosclerogenic. |
