The traditional Chinese medical prescription "jiangyamaijing"(JYMJ) has good treatment response at hypertension, which was proved in the past investigation. "JYMJ" can decrease the blood press, and has anti-lipid peroxidation function. In order to explore the medicine working mechanism, we observed "JYMJ" effect on plasma endothelin, blood lipoprotein, calcitonin -gene-related peptide, high sensitive C reactive protein, insulin resistance and homocysteine in hypertension patients. Offer objective basis to JYMJ on treat hypertension in clinic. And at the same time, find a new way to prevent cerebral infarction by using traditional Chinese medicine.Clinical research: 43 cases of Ⅰ,Ⅱ grade OF hypertension patients were divided to 2 groups on random. One is "JYMJ" group; the other is Nifedipine comparative group. JYMJ group was treated by JYMJ 18g bid and nifedipine 10mg bid, 4 weeks a course; Nifedipine group was treated by nifedipine 10mg bid, 4 weeks a course. Result: Blood pressure decreased significantly in JYMJ group and Nifedipine group, both on systolic pressure and diastole pressure(P<0.01,P<0.05),JYMJ group were better than Nifedipine group(P<0.05)。Symptom count decreased significantly in both group(P<0.01,P<0.05),and JYMJ group changed more obviously than Nifedipine group. In JYMJ group, the blood serum cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein decreased significantly after treatment(P<0.01,P<0.05);blood sugar decreased(P<0.05),the insulin sensitivity index increased obviously(P<0.05);blood plasm endothelin decreased significantly(P<0.05),blood plasm calcitonin -gene-related peptide increased significantly(P<0.05);the high sensitive C reaction protein decreased, but has not notable difference(P>0.05);blood plasm homocysteine decreased notable(P<0.05)。In Nifedipine group, the blood cholesterol, low- density lipoprotein, blood sugar, the insulin sensitivity index, blood plasm endothelin, blood plasm calcitonin-gene-related peptide, high sensitive C reaction protein had no change after treatment(P>0.05)。Conclusion: As a compound prescription JYMJ has good effect at therapy hypertension in clinic. It can decrease blood pressure, especiallydecrease symptom, raise quality of life, and reduce the risk of cerebral infarction. The possible mechanism are: (1) decrease blood plasm endothelin, increase blood plasm calcitonin-gene-related peptide, ameliorate blood vessel endothelium function, decrease blood pressure, and reduce the risk of cerebral infarction occurrence. (2) Decrease blood sugar, amelioration insulin resistance. (3) To some extent, decrease blood homocyteine, and prevent cerebral infarction. (4) Decrease blood lipoprotein, especially cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein.
