Any kind of chronic liver disease under their development are going through the pathological status called hepatic fibrosis,it is the status how liver cells repairs themselves after some pathological input,but then the reparation of liver tissue is not equal to normal liver cells function and morphology.Hepatic fibrosis is characterized by an abnormal increase in extracellular matrices.Hepatic fibrosis is caused by a lot of different pathological agents involving the abnormal accumulation of extra cellular matrix(EMC) proteins,particularly collagens.The primary sources of EMC are hepatic Stellate cells(HSC),non parenchyma cells in normal and fibrotic liver.Fibro genesis involving the proliferation and apoptosis of hepatic Stellate cells(HSC),which produce cytokines,collagen,matrix proteases and their inhibitors.An increasing of EMC involving the liver function,restricting the amount of normal function parenchyma cells.That is the process of liver fibro genesis a precursor of cirrhosis.The most important cells directly related to hepatic fibrosis are hepatic stellate cells(HSCs).Transformed HSCs locally synthesize and excrete a variety of extracellular matrices and promote hepatic fibrosis.HSCs and the cytokines involved in the fibrogenetic process may be as the target for the treatment of hepatic fibrosis.China is one of the countries with high incidence viral hepatitis B of infection,epidemiological studies bringing out the information that in China there is a high incidence of viral hep B about 9.7%,3% is HCV antibody positive.Acute and chronicle hep B,hep C could lead to a several liver changes such as hepatic fibrosis,cirrhosis,hepatocellular carcinoma.That is why we are taking attention to viral hepatitis in China,it could cause several very serious diseases,influence human health a lot.Until now in the Western medicine there is not a good way how to treat this liver changes but in the Traditional Chinese herbal medicine,there are several good methods,how to prevent and treat hepatic fibrosis.Objective To study the action of experimental study of Guizhi Fuling Pill (GFP in bridf) to prevent and cure liver fibrosis in rat.Methods Rat liver fibrotic model was created by carbon tetrachloride(CCL4).The serum hyaluronic acid, HA,LN and PC III were observed.Histological examination was also done.Results GFP can prevent and cure liver fibrosis in rat effectively.On the other hand, HA was decreased. It was also demonstrated by the histological examination. Conclusions The action mechanism GFP to pervent and cure liver fibrosis is as fllows;Protects hepatic cell,promotes the rehabilitation of injured cells.Regulates collagen metabolism,inhibits collagen synthesis,enhances collagen degradation.
