Objective: To study the relation between the spleen-stomach damp-heat syndrome and the cell apoptosis of gastric mucosa.Method: The apoptotic gene and its related protein, including PCNA p53 Bcl-2 and Fas, in gastric disease patients with spleen-stomach damp-heat syndrome were measured and compared with those in gastric disease patients with spleen-stomach deficient cold syndrome. Results: The expression of p53 and Fas in gastric disease patients with spleen-stomach damp-heat syndrome were more obvious than those in gastric disease patients with spleen-stomach deficient cold syndrome (P<0.05) , but the expression of PCNA and Bcl-2 in gastric disease patients with spleen-stomach damp-heat syndrome were not significantly different from those patients with spleen-stomach deficient cold syndrome (P>0.05).Conclusion: There is the over expression of p53 or Fas in gastric disease patients with spleen-stomach damp-heat syndrome.
