Objective : To study the availability of repair full—thickness articularcartilage defects with exogenous basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) andhyaluronic acid (HA) by intraarticular injection .Methods : Preparing animalmodel with same methods , 20 adult rabbits with full—thickness articularcartilage defects ,divided into 4 groups (1) bFGF+HA ; (2) bFGF ; (3) HA ; (4)control groups , then , postoperative intraarticular injected in 3rd , 4th , 5th , 6thand 7th weeks sampled specimens , then gave them optical microscopical andmacroscopical research in 12th week , then analysed the experimental atawith statistical methods .Results : Macroscopical research : 1st and 2nd groupscould repair the defects better than the 3rd and 4th groups , 1st groups werebetter than the 2nd groups (p < 0.01 ) . optical microscopical research : 1stgroups could repair the defects by hyaline—like cartilage , 1st groups werebetter than the 2nd , 3rd and 4th groups , 2nd groups were better than the 3rdand 4th groups , 3rd groups were better than the 4th groups , ( p<0.01 ) .Conclusion : Eogenous bFGF has significant effect in repairing offull—thickness articular cartilage defects . HA associated with eogenous bFGFhas significant effect in repairing of full—thickness articular cartilage defects ,and they have cooperation .
